Petite Etoile currently teaches French lessons to 5 and 6.

What will your child gain by learning French with Petite Etoile?

How do we deliver French at St John Rigby Primary?

  • A one hour lesson per week with each year 5 and year 6 class

  • Clear routines of meeting and greeting in French to help pupils feel safe and secure.

  • Lots of rewards to promote positive learning behaviour: stamps for effort each lesson which lead to prizes; star table awards for teamwork; french ambassador roles to encourage peer support and role modelling.

Your French lesson for this week: w/c 11th January

  2. The aim of your lesson this week is to practise numbers.  The recap lessons will be really useful if you happen to miss a lesson or you might want to revisit a topic that you are unsure of and build your confidence at home.  You might want to try some extra fun activities - there are lots on here to try out.

  4. Print out your answers to today's lesson and if you are year 5 please email them directly to Madame Bentley: rbentley@petite-etoile.co.uk.  If you are year 6 please email to Madame Kaler: lisakaler@petite-etoile.co.uk.  In your email, don't forget to say clearly who you are and which class you are from!  If you can't email us, don't worry, just keep your work safe and bring it in, when you are next in school.

Class workbooks:

Each child in year 5 and 6 will have a copy of of the Mr French workbook below in addition to their class folder, enabling them to recap and extend their written knowledge of basic French vocabulary.
